Plan Your Move

Planning is key to a smooth move-in day. Give yourself enough time to gather everything you need without rushing. Start by researching your move-in date, check-in times, and housing assignments via ASU housing portal. Remember, ASU has multiple campuses, each with its own housing, so double-check your main campus before signing up for housing slots.

Get Enough Rest the Night Before

Moving day is going to be a long one, and trust us, you’ll want to be well-rested. If you have a long trip ahead, consider using Collegeboxes’ Ship to School service. Just pack your items, and FedEx will pick them up from your home and Collegeboxes will deliver them straight to your dorm. This service saves you the hassle of lugging boxes and suitcases from your car to your dorm—especially if you’re in a hall without elevators.

Decide What to Pack

Make sure you pack all the essentials, but don’t stress about bringing everything. There are plenty of stores on campus where you can grab what you need. Create a checklist of important items and double-check it before you leave. Also, be sure to check your dorm’s rules on what you can and can’t bring. It’s better to be safe than sorry!

Get to Know Your Roommate

Moving in often means sharing your space with a roommate. Start building a connection by reaching out to them before move-in day. Understanding their lifestyle and sharing a bit about yours can go a long way in ensuring you get along well. A good relationship with your roommate can make a huge difference in your overall college experience.

If you’re curious about who your roommate will be, you can access their details through ASU’s housing portal. Shoot them an email or message to start the conversation.

Explore the Campus

Familiarize yourself with the campus and the routes to your classes from your dorm. ASU’s campuses are huge, and each one is unique. With multiple campuses across the Phoenix metro area, it’s easy to get lost, especially during your first few days. Check your class schedule and, if possible, explore all the campuses you’ll be visiting. Bring a map, because it’s going to be quite an adventure.

ASU offers a shuttle service for students to travel between campuses, complete with Wi-Fi and restrooms, so you can work on assignments while you commute. Just make sure you know the shuttle schedules and the locations of the shuttle stops.

Discover Unique Campus Spots

Each ASU campus has its own hidden gems waiting to be explored. Whether it’s in Tempe, downtown, or Lake Havasu, there’s something for everyone. Here are some unique spots on each campus:
